Monel 400 alloy is a nickel copper alloy which has high strength over a wide temperature range up to 1000 F. Springs made from Monel 400 can be used in corrosive conditions at temperatures as high as 450 F. This alloy is excellent in brackish water under high velocity conditions. Corrosive rates in agitated airated sea water usually do not exceed 1 mpy. A common specification is ASTM B 164.
